Dear MIUIers,
Xiaomi WiFi Repeater (some call it Xiaomi WiFI Amplifier), is portable, inexpensive and tiny wifi repeater device which is supported with USB power to extend the range of your WiFi network. One drawback is that (officially) Xiaomi WiFi Repeater is only compatible with Xiaomi Router product itself and there is no documentation provided by Xiaomi for “pairing” this repeater with other routers. But don’t worry we will help you in a quick and easy step by step to work this repeater with any router, here is how.

1. Plug in your Xiaomi WiFi Repeater to any USB Port (USB charger, powerbank or anything that has USB port).

2. Download Mi Home application on Android Play Store or iOS App Store.

3. Do not update the app.After you’ve downloaded, open the Mi Home application and ignore any update notification that pops up. You must be logged in with Mi Account first before you begin “pairing” with your router. Create new account if you don’t have one. Before you tap on the login button, please make sure the server you choose is (“Chinese Mainland”).

Do not choose other servers other than “Chinese Mainland” because it will display different layout and pairing will not work !!!

4. Tap on “Devices” tab on the bottom left of your screen and then tap on the “+” button on the top right of your screen.

5. After tapping the “+” button in step 5, you will see a list of Xiaomi Home products. Select on Mi Wifi Repeater and make sure your repeater’s light status is blinking in yellow color then tap on the circle box beside the text “Yellow flashing light” and tap Next.

6. You will be brought to “Choose working Wi-Fi” window, since you have connected to the “host” router stated in the first step, “host” router’s SSID will automatically be inputted. You just need to input the “host” router’s password and press Next.

7. After pressing Next button, you will see your screen like below. Exit Mi Home and go to your phone’s wifi setting and connect it to”xiaomi-repeater_xxx”. Then go back to Mi Home application.

8. After opening back Mi Home application, Mi Home will automatically detect that you have connected to Xiaomi wifi repeater. There will be progress screen in percentage. Wait until it’s done and see that your repeater’s status light turning into blue color which mean that it has successfully paired/connected to the “host” router.

9.  After finished “pairing”, you can change the device name (helps you to differentiate if you have more than one repeater).

Note - If the Mi Home app throws an error during setup but your repeater has a blue LED already, you can simply ignore the error. The repeater will work fine :)

Xiaomi WiFi amplifier/repeater’s SSID cannot be changed. Your repeater SSID will have additional “_plus” with the same password with your “host” router.

Rooting is the process of allowing the user to attain privileged control (known as root access) over various Android subsystems.

This is a hassle-free Rooting process with the help of my batch file specifically for Redmi Note 3 (SD) using SuperSU and TWRP recovery to flash many of your favorite custom ROM and apps.

Environment:

• Bootloader Unlock (Note: Guide to Apply permission & Unlock bootloader)
• Microsoft® Windows® 8/7/10 (32 or 64-bits).

Essentials:

• USB Port on your PC/Laptop
• USB DATA cable (the one that came with your device)
• Enable OEM Unlock - Goto Settings > Additional settings > Developer options > Enable OEM Unlock
• Enable USB Debugging - Goto Settings > Additional settings > Developer options > USB Debugging - Enable (If you have not activated Developer options, then Goto Settings > About phone > tap MIUI version 7 times > You are now a developer)

Requirements:

• Download and install Universal Adb Driver
• Download and unzipped FLASHER TOOLKIT V1-00.zip
• Create a specific "Boot.img" for the respective ROM version Using Android Image Kitchen
• Download UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.65 and moved it to your"Download" root directory on your phone for easy access.

Flashing TWRP recovery:

After you done that, open the "TWRP3.0_RN3_SD_feds64" folder and double click on "Flash_TWRP3SD.bat" to start the process, as shown below:-

From here onwards, please follow the instruction as required on the command screen, as shown below:-

After completing the flash of TWRP, you will go into the TWRP Mount menu page, as follows:-

Caution: When you ticked, Mount system partition read-only, you will get OTA updates for the Official ROM and not otherwise, as shown below:-

Installing SuperSU:

Then proceed to Main menu and choose, Select Zip File/SD Card/Download/BETA-SuperSU-v2.71, Swipe to Install, as shown below:-

Adjust time to your time zone, change language and you could make backup and restore later, as shown below:-

Then REBOOT SYSTEM accordingly, as shown below:-

Run SuperSU, Install an addon backup script that will let SuperSU survive custom ROM updates and nightlies? accordingly to ease yourself from losing SuperSU everything you get an updates, as follows:-

Now you have SuperSU installed, and you can download Root Checker to out whether ROOT has been done properly, as shown below:-

Now you are done with TWRP, SuperSU and you have successfully ROOTED your REDMI NOTE 3 (SD).
