Note : - Rooting does not Void Warranty.

Caution:
This is a safe process, but I am not responsible for anything bad that happens to your phone.
In most cases this approach of rooting should not block OTA updates.
This guide will root your device through Stock MI recovery, but this is not Native Root. A new app named SuperSU will be installed, which will give root Permission.

Steps to follow for rooting :
Download the zip file according to your android version and Copy the file to the folder 'Internal storage' (root of internal storage)
Open the Updater app, Press the 3 dots at Right Top Corner, A menu will open. Tap on “Choose Update Package“ and select the .zip File.
Wait until device will reboot.
After reboot a new app SuperSu will be installed.
Open the app and Choose"Continue".
Choose "Normal", Don't Choose TWRP/CWM, device will go into Boot Loop.
After sucessful updation , press ok.
Your Phone has now Root Permission.

For HM2014813 Kitkat
For Miui Lollipop 

Open any app using Root permission and SuperSU will ask for Permission.

Enjoy your rooted Redmi 2.

Un Root The Device:-
For Un Root , open the SuperSU app,tap on Settings, Choose Full Unroot.
Your Device is Un Rooted Sucessfully.The SuperSU app will be removed.

Flashing Custom Recovery


Pre requirements :
1) Flashify app. 
You can download it from here 
Playstore
Zippyshare 
2) Rooted android phone
3) The recovery .img
Twrp recovery -
Download
Or
Philz touch recovery -
Download

How to use flashify to flash custom recovery :
1) Once installed, access the application through app drawer.
2) Allow root access now and get navigate to Flashify’s home screen.
3) First take a backup of your recovery in case something goes wrong (RECOMMENDED). 
4 ) Now tap on recovery image and by "Choose the file" menu locate the .img file you want to flash.
5) After successful flashing it will ask you to reboot your device. 
6) Done! You have custom recovery on your phone.

Important Note - 
Your warranty is now voided.
Please do some research if you have any concerns about flashing ROMs or any other doubts!
You are choosing to make these modifications, and dont point the finger at me for messing up your device.
P.S. But you can always get warranty back by flashing stock MIUI ROM.

Pre requirements -
Please backup the original system data (contacts, SMS, application data, etc.).
Please backup files to another location as the built-in storage (external storage or individual PC).
Custom Recovery Installed On Your Device.
Enabled USB Debugging.
Phone Battery Charged Above 70% At Least.
Copy Rom zip and MM based GApps zips to your internal SDCard.[Which Rom You want?GApps is optional(your choice)]

Instructions -

• Boot into Recovery.
• Clear Data,Clear Cache,Clear Dalvik Cache.
• Flash ROM zip file from from internal SD Card.
• Flash GApps zip file from internal SD Card.
• Clear Cache and Clear Dalvik Cache.
• Reboot.
